The Last of Us 2 is a much more expansive game than the original. This time around, our protagonists encounter a wider variety of enemies belonging to a range of different factions. These groups all interact, carry different beliefs, and most often don’t get along. Keep scrolling as we detail all The Last of Us 2 factions in this complete human enemies list.
The Last of Us 2 Factions | All enemies list
Fair warning that there are some generalized spoilers here.
The Last of Us 2 Factions | Washington Liberation Front
Often abbreviated to WLF and referred to as “Wolves,” the Washington Liberation Front is a militaristic organization led by Isaac Dixon. The group overthrew US military unit FEDRA in Seattle to take control of the Quarantine Zone and operates from within the city. Wolves aren’t afraid to use extreme violence to achieve their goals and are actively engaged in a conflict with the Seraphites.
Playable character Abby (voiced by Laura Bailey) is aligned with the WLF, while the Wolves are Ellie’s main targets.
The Last of Us 2 Factions | Seraphites
Seraphites — also referred to as “Scars” — are a devout group that was established by a (now deceased) religious fanatic. Scars generally travel in packs and favor primitive tools like melee weapons and bows over guns. They communicate through a series of whistles, making them a particularly unnerving faction to come up against.
As previously mentioned, Seraphites are at war with the WLF and don’t discriminate when it comes to killing trespassers. As such, you’ll fight Scars as both Abby and Ellie.
The Last of Us 2 Factions | Rattlers
Rattlers are a late-game addition, appearing only when Abby and Ellie travel to Santa Barbara, California. They’re a bandit gang and probably the most deplorable of all the enemies you’ll face. The group is heavily-armed and wears protective armor; being so well-equipped allows the Rattlers to keep both human and infected prisoners.
The Last of Us 2 Factions | Jackson County
Jackson County serves as the Wyoming-based home of Ellie and Joel in The Last of Us 2. While obviously not an enemy faction in the traditional sense, Abby and her companions in the Washington Liberation Front do clash with several Jackson residents.
