Destiny: General Tips
-
Special Abilities
Use your special ability effectively. Wait until there are a lot of enemies around before activating it – then you can generate more orbs of light for the rest of your teammates. -
Purchasing Guns
Don't be afraid to purchase guns from the gunsmith, especially early on. You'll find good items out on story missions and strikes, but it takes a while at times. -
Jump Away
Running away seems like a valid method of escaping, but jumping away works just as well, if not better. It can save you in key situations. -
Item Rarity
Rarer doesn't necessarily mean better. Take time to look at the stats for each piece of equipment, don't rely on only colors. -
Team Up with Friends
Coordination is key on some of the tougher strikes, so try to gather some friends together for those missions. -
Subclasses
Feel free to change to the other subclass at level 15. You'll have to earn your original skills again (jumping, special ability, etc), but you can switch back to the old subclass at any time. -
Weapon Experimentation
Experiment with weapons. You may feel comfortable with one particular type, but try other weapons to see if there's a better fit. -
Weapon Readiness
Hold on to different weapon types. You may love shotguns, but there are situations where a sniper rifle or fusion rifle will be more appropriate in a fight.
