Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is making waves, and it’s getting many people interested in trying a flight sim for the first time. If you’ve never played a game in this genre before, you might want to try out a Flight Simulator 2020 demo to make sure you like it before you commit to buying.
Unfortunately, there’s not a demo for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. However, there’s a way to try it for much less than MSRP that’s way better than any trial version.
Is there a Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 demo?
As stated above, there’s no Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 demo. A trial version would be cool, but it’s not the type of game that would adapt well into a demo.
Luckily, you can get the full version of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Standard Edition on Xbox Game Pass for PC. While Game Pass isn’t free, you can get a trial of the PC version for $1 for the first month and $4.99 a month after that.
The standard version of Flight Simulator 2020 gives you access to:
- 20 Aircraft
- 30 Hand-crafted Airports
This is the majority of the content the game offers. The Deluxe and Premium Deluxe editions give you more aircraft and hand-crafted airports. However, you’d need to purchase those versions at MSRP.
Of course, there are also other great perks to Xbox Game Pass for PC that makes that $1 first month trial stretch further. There are a ton of full games available for download through the service, so even if you find Flight Simulator 2020 isn’t your cup of tea, you’ll likely find at least one game you enjoy.
One caveat to trying Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 right now is that the game was just released. As such, you can expect to run into bugs. You also need a fairly robust PC to play the game, and the minimum system requirements on Steam don’t seem accurate to me. Even with the recommended specs, I would expect players to run into performance issues. If you want to check out this game, you may be better off waiting for a month or two of patches before you burn your $1 free trial.
