Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers now gain access to the complete EA Play catalog, alongside all of the usual benefits. With that in mind, Electronic Arts’ app is likely more popular now than ever before. Unfortunately, however, Xbox Series X|S owners haven’t been able to take advantage of the new EA Play subscription bonus. Although it’s possible to download the EA Play application on Xbox Series X|S, it simply will not launch on either of the next-gen consoles.

There is no can’t launch EA Play on Xbox Series X|S fix. Xbox manufacturer Microsoft is aware of the issue, however, and currently working with Electronic Arts to “find potential resolutions for the future.” Fortunately, games included in the EA Play catalog can still be accessed for free without using the dedicated app:

One of the more recent titles available to download in full via the latter EA Play Xbox Series X|S workaround is Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. It’s a great Star Wars game that helped to pave the way for the recent Star Wars: Squadrons, which was also pretty good. Inevitably, Squadrons will be added to the EA Play catalog in the future; by then, an EA Play Xbox Series X|S patch will hopefully have been issued.
