Tips

Hitting

Look at the variety of swings you've got and examine the current situation. Use power swings only for batters that already have a high stat in that category. If the bases are loaded, you will want a better contact swing instead of a power swing which might be too risky. Bunts are also extremely risky and normally results in an out, so do it mainly if you want to execute a sacrifice play just to score a run from third base or something similar.

Base Running

Only steal a base when the ball is clearly in a position where the runner will have sufficient time to run for it. A pop fly isn't worth the trouble, but an outfielder that makes an error or a grounded ball that takes substantial time to roll is the perfect time to attempt a steal. This is especially true if you have a man on third base (and he has a strong running stat), as the ball needs to be thrown a longer length to reach the catcher.

Pitching

Always attempt to pitch the ball away from hot zones where the batter will likely get a solid hit. You will need to find a good rhythm and practice the timing for power and accuracy so that you don't accidentally give away too many hits.
