Mass Effect Legendary Edition is the hotly anticipated remaster of the first three games in the trilogy in one bundle. However, some people don’t want to pay full price for it, especially for those subscribed to EA Play. Here’s whether or not a Mass Effect Legendary Edition EA Play or Game Pass collaboration is coming in the future.
Will Mass Effect Legendary Edition come to EA Play and Game Pass?
Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be coming to EA Play, but the membership tier is an important factor in deciding when that will be. The game will not immediately be available for regular base EA Play members at launch. That will probably take a few months or longer to come to that part of the service. Since EA says only some games get a 10-hour trial, it’s not yet clear if Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be one of those games. And since EA Play and Game Pass are linked, the same applies to Game Pass.
However, Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be coming to EA Play for EA Play Pro subscribers. The trilogy will be playable as a part of that package on May 14, the game’s official launch date. There is no early access for the EA Play Pro members. As the above picture shows, EA Play Pro is $15 a month. And as of now, EA Play Pro only on PC so console owners have to wait.
When will Mass Effect Legendary Edition come to EA Play and Game Pass?
There’s no set date on when Mass Effect Legendary Edition will hit the lower tier of EA Play and, by extension, Game Pass on Xbox. However, EA games typically take around six months to a year to come to the standard version of EA Play. For example, FIFA 21 released on October 5, 2020 and came to EA Play on May 6, 2021, just over seven months later. Anthem and Madden 21 also took around six months to come to EA Play.
Given this history, Mass Effect Legendary Edition might makes its way to EA Play by the end of 2021. However, EA has not said either way.
