Where can I stream the Evangelion movies: Where to stream Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 and the other films

The fourth and final Evangelion movie, Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.01 Thrice Upon a Time, will soon be available to stream in the US, and fans are wondering where they can find the other three. Despite its immense popularity, Evangelion hasn’t been the most straightforward franchise to watch. Fortunately, that trend is coming to an end, and fans will be able to stream the movies soon.

Where can you stream Evangelion 3.0 + 1.01 and the rest of the Evangelion movies?

Evangelion 3.0 + 1.01 will stream on Amazon Prime Video beginning on August 13, 2021. The other three films, Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone, Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance, and Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo, will also come to the service. However, Amazon didn’t confirm if these films would come to Prime Video on the same day as Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.01 or not.

It’s been hard to find legal ways to watch Evangelion in the West as the DVDs went out of print in the 2000s. As a result, the series wasn’t available on streaming until Netflix acquired the rights to do so in 2019. So this was many people’s first chance to see it, and it’s in HD to boot, though the new translation and voice acting from Netflix leave something to be desired.

Even though the series itself has been available on Netflix for two years, fans had to purchase the films outright as they haven’t been available on any streaming service. So it’s a bit of a disappointment that the franchise is split across two services, especially given the fanfare when Netflix acquired streaming rights for the anime.

Thrice Upon a Time picks up from the end of the bewildering Evangelion: 3.33 You Can (Not) Redo. An official trailer accompanied the announcement that the films would be coming to Prime, giving a (very small) peek at the movie. We’ll get to see how this all ends when the film releases on streaming on August 13, 2021.
