When are the Call of Duty Vanguard open beta dates?

The release of Call of Duty Vanguard is right around the corner, but fans can get an early look through the open beta. That’s right, Vanguard will be free to try out ahead of its launch, with two upcoming beta weekends. However, Vanguard’s open beta start and end dates differ depending on your platform and whether or not you’ve pre-ordered the game.

Call of Duty Vanguard open beta start and end dates

The Call of Duty Vanguard open beta begins on September 18 and ends on September 20. Those who preorder the game for PlayStation will get early access a weekend before from September 10-13. Otherwise, Xbox, PC, and PlayStation players who pre-ordered can jump into the crossplay beta starting on September 16.

Like other Call of Duty betas, the timeline on this one is pretty messy. PlayStation users get access first, through what’s being called Weekend One of the open beta. Then, a week later, the crossplay beta kicks off. Finally, the beta opens up to everyone on September 18.

Here are the specific start and end dates for the Call of Duty Vanguard open beta:

  • September 10 through 13 – PlayStation early access beta (pre-order required)
  • September 16 through 17 – Xbox, Battle.net, and PlayStation crossplay beta (pre-order required except for PlayStation users)
  • September 18 through 20 -Open beta for all platforms (no pre-order required)

If the dates seem a bit confusing, it’s because certain betas are open to certain players. PlayStation players who pre-ordered the game can play on September 10, and they can also play all throughout September 16 through 20. However, PlayStation players who haven’t pre-ordered can only jump into the fully open beta starting on September 18.

Xbox and PC players won’t get the early access no matter what, and they’ll only be able to start playing on September 16 if they’ve placed a pre-order. Otherwise, they’ll have to wait until September 18 to try out the game.

If you haven’t pre-ordered Call of Duty Vanguard, you can still try the open beta from September 18 through 20. Otherwise, players who pre-order the game will be able to start earlier: September 10 for PlayStation players, and September 16 for everyone else.

The full version of the game is still set to release on November 5, 2021. In the meantime, consider reading more about the game’s new Champion Hill mode. If you’re considering placing an order, check out our guide to all Vanguard editions and pre-order bonuses.
