Will Back 4 Blood Servers Shut Down After Turtle Rock Studios Ends Development?

Back 4 Blood studio Turtle Rock Studios announced late last night that it would be wrapping up development on the title after just over a year since release. The game has seen three different expansions since release, but won’t be getting any more content as stated by Turtle Rock Studios:

“Turtle Rock Studios is actually pretty small for a studio making AAA games. We don’t have quite enough folks to continue working on Back 4 Blood content while we spin up another game- yes, another game! Given this, it’s time for us to put our heads down, get back in the lab, and get to work on the next big thing”

Will Back 4 Blood servers remain live and online?

It’s not all bad news though. While yes, the game won’t be receiving any future updates or content, you’ll still be able to actually play the game with your friends. Turtle Rock confirm as much in its official release on the news, saying that:

“Back 4 Blood will continue to operate, of course. In fact, Back 4 Blood is currently offered on PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers, and available as part of Xbox Game Pass”

Fortunately, Back 4 Blood can also be played offline, so if the game’s servers are to ever shut down, players won’t need to
