Hogwarts Legacy House Differences: Does My Choice Matter or Affect Anything?

Does your House choice matter in Hogwarts Legacy and does it affect anything? Choosing between Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw is one of your earliest decisions in the game, but players will be wondering if the House you choose makes a difference. So, does it?

What are the Hogwarts Legacy House differences?

The only differences between Houses in Hogwarts Legacy are the different Common Rooms you’ll have access to, and the color of your robes when you begin the game. Dialogue options will also be changed when you interact with NPCs to reflect your chosen House.

Given that these robes will quickly be abandoned in favor of higher-level gear, and the Common Room isn’t of much use as you progress anyway, your House choice is a pretty arbitrary one. As such, simply select the House you prefer, as no matter what you decide the game will progress in the same way.

Does my Hogwarts Legacy House choice do anything?

It doesn’t matter which Hogwarts Legacy House you choose, as none of them affect gameplay.

Your House choice doesn’t even affect the characters you come into contact with, so don’t expect any Harry Potter-esque figures in Gryffindor or Draco Malfoys in Slytherin. You’ll still be joined by the same characters regardless of which House you align yourself with, so even though this decision may seem important, it really isn’t in the grand scheme of things.
