The Last of Us continues Sunday, March 5, 2023 with Episode 8 on HBO, with a cast that includes the likes of renowned voice actor Troy Baker, who played Joel in the Last of Us video game series from Naughty Dog, as well as returning stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Those who are familiar with the first Last of Us game will recognize Troy Baker’s character James as David’s right hand man. Both are members of the Silver Lake community, which David serves as the leader of. With secrets to keep, the pair are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure their people are kept safe, or at least manageable and under control.
This is the only episode that Baker, as well as Scott Shepherd and Nelson Leis are credited for. That means audiences shouldn’t expect them to appear in the Last of Us Season 1 finale, which is currently scheduled to broadcast on HBO and stream on HBO Max from Sunday, March 12, 2023.
Somebody who will appear in The Last of Us Episode 9 on HBO, however, is fellow voice actor Ashley Johnson. Having played Ellie in the games, she will make her live-action Last of Us debut as Ellie’s mother, Anna Williams. This is the first time the character will have been seen, after only being mentioned in passing in the games.
