The Mandalorian upped the action in Season 3, Episode 5, but it was the appearance of what seemed to be a familiar face early on in the latest installment that had Star Wars Rebels fans talking, as they noticed what seemed to be Zeb Orrelios in a dingy cantina. Was that really Garazeb Orrelios, commonly known as Zeb, in live-action? Or was it just a lookalike? Here’s what we know.
Was Zeb Orrelios in The Mandalorian Season 3, Episode 5?
Yes, Zeb Orrelios, also known as Garazeb, was in The Mandalorian Season 3, Episode 5. Once the credits rolled for the fifth episode of the third season, the character was confirmed to have made an appearance, voiced by Steve Blum.
Zeb appeared alongside Paul Sun-Hyung Lee’s character, Captain Carson Teva, as he overheard a message from High Magistrate Greef Karga. Warning him of the pirate attack on Nevarro, and the high probability of the planet falling before being turned into a pirate base, Zeb commented how tough it would be to get the New Republic to send help.
Zeb is one of the main characters in the animated TV show, Star Wars Rebels. He served as the Captain of the Lasan Honor Guard, before making it through as one of few survivors of the massacre on his home planet. He then became a member of the Ghost Crew, affectionately referred to as its “muscle,” and given the designation of Spectre-4 among his comrades.
Whether or not this will be Zeb’s only live-action appearance remains to be seen. He could simply have been included as an Easter Egg, and a nod to some of the biggest Star Wars fans. There is also the chance that he is being teased as a future addition to the live-action Star Wars world, with a much bigger role to play in the near future. Fans will certainly be keeping their eyes peeled for any more clues, especially those that will lead into the next major Disney Plus Star Wars series, Ahsoka.
