Zelda Tears of the Kingdom How to Use Wing Device

Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom: How to Use the Wing Device

When you run into the Wing Device for the first time in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll likely be a bit confused about how to use it. Thus far, you’ve needed just to hit a Zonai device to activate it. However, the Wing Device is passive in its base form until it hits the air. So, how do you launch it?

How to fly the Wing Device in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To fly the Wing Device in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll need to launch it into the air. When you first encounter it right after the third shrine, you’ll see there are rails nearby. You need to use your Ultrahand to lift the Wing onto these rails, then climb on. It’ll then slide down the hill, and you’ll take off.

To control the Wing device in its base form, you’ll need to shift Link’s weight around it:

  • Move Link to the back to raise the nose and gain altitude at the cost of speed.
  • Move Link to the front to lower the nose and gain momentum at the expense of height.
  • Move Link to either side of the Wing to turn.

Fortunately, the Wing can be used in conjunction with other Zonai devices. For example, you’ll have access to fans when you see it for the first time in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These can be attached to extend the Wing’s range and speed.
