Would You Support Condemned 3?

Jace Hall, a developer for the original Condemned series who owns the entire franchise, has written a post on Facebook asking whether the gaming populace would like to see a third installment of the Xbox exclusive franchise.

"Since I am focused on other things and will be quite some time," he writes, "this franchise is just sitting there. I am contemplating finding an interested and proven Indie development team AND PROVIDING IT TO THEM, so that they can take over the franchise and move it forward."

Jace believes that it's difficult for indies "to get marketing/media attention for a title," so using Condemned, a franchise that "is already quite known, has market demand, and is in an innovative genre/category," would be a great opportunity for an indie studio to break into the market.

I have not made my support for the beat-'em-up genre a secret. The first-person beat-'em-up genre has been left untapped for awhile, apart from Zeno Clash and the melee beatdown that's in Dying Light and the like. So I'm all for developing the Condemned series even further on new-gen tech, perhaps enhancing the dystopian atmosphere and the bare-knuckle combat.
