No NX, Mobile News From Nintendo at E3

It looks like Nintendo will focus on the Wii U and 3DS at E3 this year, as the company doesn't plan to make any announcements regarding its mobile game development or next console.

According to Kotaku, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata expressed his company's desire to showcase current hardware in a recent investors meeting.

“Incidentally, we’re getting various questions for this year’s E3, like ‘Won’t there be a NX announcement?’, ‘Will there be a presentation on smart devices?’, or ‘Will there be more on the quality of life platform?,'" he said. "However, since we understand that E3 is an event for dedicated video game machines, we do not intend to discuss the smart devices as well as quality of life.”

NX refers to Nintendo's next console. No information is known about the hardware aside from its codename, but Iwata stressed during the meeting that specific details will not be unveiled until 2016.

Nintendo will still have plenty of games to show at E3 this year. Wii U owners in particular are eagerly anticipating The Legend of Zelda Wii U, Star Fox Wii U, Mario Maker, and Xenoblade Chronicles X among others.
