Ubisoft Wants to Bring Its Franchises to VR

Ubisoft is currently working to bring its popular franchises to virtual reality.

"First, we believe a lot in virtual reality, because we see it’s really giving a chance for gamers to be immersed in worlds," Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said during the company's latest earnings call. "We are developing a certain number of games that are going to take advantage of these new possibilities."

Which game series will they be looking to bring to VR headsets like Oculus, Morpheus, and Vive? I could see some fairly interesting applications to Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, or even Watch Dogs.

"What we are doing is working on the different brands we have to see how we can take advantage of these new possibilities, while making sure we also don’t suffer from what comes with it, which is the difficulty to play a long time with those sorts of games," Guillemot added.

Do you believe VR is truly the future of gaming?
