Mass Effect 3 Spells the End of Shepard

BioWare has said time and time again that Mass Effect 3 is considered the "end" of the trilogy, but that they plan on continuing the Mass Effect universe beyond three titles. When they do so, they'll be doing it without Commander Shepard.

While speaking with PC Gamer at gamescom in Cologne, Germany, BioWare CEO Ray Mazuka said that Mass Effect 3 spells the end of Commander Shepard's story.

Mass Effect 3 is simultaneously a couple of different things; a thrilling and epic conclusion to the trilogy as we promised our fans we'd provide for Commander Shepard.

He continued, explaining that the series will still go on without him.

But it's also a brand new beginning – it's an entry point for new fans and it's also a brand new beginning.

We have ambitious plans to continue this franchise going forward.

Despite knowing Shepard's story is ending, nothing is spoiled. There are plenty of ways this could go. Call it now: Does Shepard die? Does he turn evil Darth Vader style and become the villain for the next trilogy? Or something else entirely? Give your scenario for the end of Shepard below.
