Breaking Benjamin Singer Calls Star Wars: Battlefront A “Piece of Sh*t”

Well, that escalated quickly.

Benjamin Burnley from the band Breaking Benjamin posted an Instagram with a broken Star Wars: Battlefront Xbox One disc along with a response that doesn't mince words:

They wanted to pay me to post that I like this peice of shit game .. They can shove it up their ass this  game sucks I'd rather watch the god awful prequels than play this peice of shit one more second that's for ruining Stars EA 🙂

Grammar aside, Burnley brings up the issue of promotion in the games industry. It's fine for marketing teams to ask celebrities to promote their game, and it's up to the celebrity to tell readers if they've been paid to promote something (that would be the ethical approach).

Some speculate that Burnley was asked to promote Star Wars: Battlefront due to him dressing up as Kylo Ren on Twitter. Now, Burnley could have just declined the offer instead of ripping the game a new one, but then again, we wouldn't have this quote.
