This Is What Playing Resident Evil 7 In Third-Person Would Be Like

Resident Evil 7's transition from third-person to first-person is a huge change for what is now a more than 20 year old franchise. Learning from games such as Amnesia: The Dark Descent and P.T., the title is more focused on the horror side of survival horror than its predecessors, making players confront their fears of darkness and ominous beings face first.

But we can't help but wonder what the game would play like in a more traditional Resident Evil style third-person view. Although that might not be possible using conventional methods, a modder has edited the recently released demo to support such a means of play. The results are interesting, but far from perfect.

For one, the main character's head is missing. In addition, animations and the camera control are wonky. But at the very least we get to see what it'd be like, generally speaking.

Resident Evil 7 is scheduled for a January 24th debut on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
