Check Out These Early Character Designs For Far Cry 3’s Vaas

Far Cry 3's Vaas is easily one of the most memorable video game characters of last year, and believe it or not, it took Ubisoft Montreal several attempts to get the look of this villainous character just right.

In fact, executive producer Dan Hay told IGN flat out, “We absolutely didn’t get it right on the first go.” This statement couldn't be more true, and the following images are evidence to that fact.

Here's a more brutish, husky take on the character, sporting a nose ring and one working eye. At this point, he was called Bull. I think you can guess why.

Later, the character evolved into Pyro, a “volatile, explosive, rage-filled” villain, who bears his own share of physical deformities. Again, the name should be self-explanatory.

And finally, the studio eventually settled on Vaas, who, while not quite as physically unsettling as previous iterations, proved to be incredibly intimidating and disturbing in his own right.

I must say, I think they made the right choice. Agree? Let us know in the comments below.
