Wii U Sees Significant Price Cut In The UK

Amazon UK, in addition to a handful of other retailers in the region, has cut the price of both the 8GB and 32GB models of the Wii U. Both SKUs have been given a £50 discount, bringing the basic model to £199 ($297), and the deluxe option down to £249 ($372).

Sales of the Wii U have been underwhelming as of late, so perhaps this discount will help re-energize the console. However, with little more than New Super Mario Bros. U to keep players occupied, it's hard to justify the purchase of the hardware, even if it is significantly cheaper.

It's quite clear at this point that Nintendo needs a killer app sooner rather than later. Give us a new 3D Mario, a new Mario Kart, a new Super Smash Bros., and maybe a new Zelda while you're at it. That's all we ask!
