EarthBound Is Coming To The Virtual Console

EarthBound will be headed to the WIi U Virtual Console in the West later this year.

The news was announced early this morning during today's Nintendo Direct. For those that don't know, EarthBound is a cult-classic from the SNES that didn't sell particularly well outside of Japan, and as such, was released in very limited quantities, so now it is quite expensive.

The game (known as Mother 2 in Japan) made its way to the Japanese Virtual Console earlier this year, so it's nice to see the rest of us aren't getting left out on the fun.

We don't have an exact release date just yet, so be sure to stay tuned to GameRevolution for additional details in the days to come.
