Warframe Plains of Eidolon remaster out on PC, consoles coming soon

In 2017, the third-person FPS MMO-lite Warframe got its first open-world area for players to explore. Titled the Plains of Eidolon, this extensive space was a nice change from the linear levels in the main game. However, developer Digital Extremes knew this project was a work in progress. Since its release, this upgrade has introduced new mechanics and systems for players to conquer. Now, players can get excited for a Warframe Plains of Eidolon remaster, out now on PC and coming soon to consoles.

While everyone loved the plains at the time of release, it was hard to ignore how empty they were. Similar to the original Destiny, the open-space meant tons of searching for small events and grinding through enemies for experience. This remaster will address those issues and provide a visual overhaul to boot.

Graphically, the Warframe Plains of Eidolon remaster has upgrades to its dynamic lighting system, new terrain textures, and neater environment effects. That and some technical improvements will make the game run more smoothly. The visual updates will also bring with some map variety. The whole update is summarized as “around 2GB of eye-melting foliage,” according to the patch notes.

Additionally, the remaster has a few new enemy types. To start, the Plains will house a new Grineer machine that strays around the land. Players will have to “identify and expose their weak points” to take them out. Otherwise, reinforcements will keep on coming. There is also a new tracking mechanic, where players can “track and tranq” a variety of creatures within the plains. With these monsters comes a new badge and other upgrades.

Finally, the Plains’ economy system is getting a revamp. Items are getting new sell prices, blueprints are converting into arcanes, and more. This update will also include a “Creator Mode,” which removes in-game distractions and spoilers for Content Creators. This option will hide sensitive data and alter transmissions, among other things.  Of course, there’s a whole slew of other changes and bug fixes, which you can view in the official patch notes.
