Detective Pikachu Earth Day trailer

Detective Pikachu Earth Day trailer will pull at your heartstrings

Detective Pikachu Earth Day trailer has been released, giving us a better look at some of the movie’s special effects and some heartwarming scenery set to a beautiful rendition of Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World. Aside from telling us a little more about the world of the movie, we also get to see a variety of Pokemon in their natural habitats and in the city.

The trailer opens with an overhead shot of a forest where we get to see the O.G. starter Pokemon (Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle) in their natural habitat along with some other creatures from the newer generations. The main human character Tim Goodman is shown carrying a tired and/or wounded Pikachu through this forest as the various other Pokemon trot around him.

The scenery of the trailer then shifts to the city where we get to see just how strongly integrated the beloved pocket monsters have become with human society. Tim walks through the city and we get our first solid looks at Pancham and Pangoro as well as quite a few other creatures in the background. Finally, the trailer closes out on a heartwarming conversation between Detective Pikachu and Tim. “Listen, kid, I know this much,” Detective Pikachu begins. “If your dad was here, he would hug you so hard, your bones would pop.”

The Detective Pikachu Earth Day trailer was released via Ryan Reynolds’ Twitter account. Mr. Reynolds has the distinct honor of playing the voice role of the titular Detective Pikachu in the film. While his comedy chops are well-established, the Detective Pikachu Earth Day trailer also shows off his dramatic range with some scenes that might just bring you to tears. Mr. Reynolds’ voice talents are joined by the live-action presence of Justice Smith as Tim Goodman whose previous works include Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and The Get Down.
