Xbox One Won’t Be Backwards Compatible At All

Just like we saw with the PlayStation 4, Microsoft's new gaming console won't support current-gen gaming content.

Xbox Live VP Marc Whitten explained why, saying that "the system is based on a different core architecture, so back-compat doesn't really work from that perspective."

Worse yet, the Big M has no streaming solution planned for the future. At least Sony has the promise of Gaikai to fall back on. Despite this, "Microsoft does, however, plan to keep selling the Xbox 360 alongside the new console for the foreseeable future. This isn't about getting rid of the Xbox 360," Witten added.

Are you upset at the lack of backwards compatibility? Is this a deal-breaker for you? Sound off in the comments below.
