What is Nintendo’s response to the 160,000 breached Nintendo Switch accounts?

  1. Logging into a Nintendo Account with a Nintendo Network ID is now discontinued.
  2. Anyone whose account is suspected to have been compromised will be notified to reset their password.

The company’s Japanese website has further information (via Nibel). They advise that anyone who notices an unauthorized purchase get in touch with Nintendo and it will get the problem sorted out.

For now, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to set a new password for your Nintendo account and set up two-factor authentication.
