Xbox One Kinect Can “Understand Two People Speaking At Once”

Microsoft has been touting the new capabilities of Kinect for quite some time now, and New Technology Lead Developer Nick Burton has added one new feature to that growing list: the ability to understand two voices at once.

During the Eurogamer Expo, Microsoft Corporate VP Phil Harrison shared a video with those in attendance, detailing the motion-tracking camera's new features. In it, Burton explained that "it can not only hear two people speaking at once and understand two people speaking at once," adding, "It can also see if their mouths are moving in a completely dark room. And that allows us to do crazy levels of detail."

These new capabilities of the Kinect are all well and good, but until we see them used in unique and interesting ways, it's hard to get excited. Do you agree? Let us know in the comments below.
