Amazon Currently Unsure How To Handle PS4 Watch Dogs Bundle Pre-Orders [Update: Amazon, GameStop Offer Solutions]

[Update] Both Amazon and GameStop have provided official statements that clear up the issue regarding PS4 Watch Dog bundles. Here's what Amazon had to say in a post on Facebook:
For those of you who pre-order the Watch Dogs PlayStation 4 bundle—don’t worry—you will still be getting your Playstation 4 (without Watch Dogs) based on your current delivery estimate. We are adjusting the orders now and will update you once we know more.
And here's GameStop's plan, which was shared with Polygon:
With the news that Ubisoft has delayed the release of the highly-anticipated title Watch Dogs until next year, GameStop is contacting customers who had reserved PlayStation 4 and Xbox One bundles featuring the game.

Customers can elect to keep their current bundle orders and their consoles will ship as scheduled with the game shipping separately once it is available, or customers can choose another bundle to replace their current order. Customers should also note that there may be a difference in the price if selecting another bundle and that all reserved orders will be charged upon shipment.

[Original] Earlier today, Ubisoft announced that Watch Dogs has been delayed to spring of next year, naturally creating a bit of an issue for retailers offering PS4 bundles with the game packed in.

DualShockers has reached out to Amazon, asking the retailer how it plans to handle the situation. Unfortunately it looks like the online retailer currently doesn't have a solution just yet. In fact, Amazon appears to be pretty much clueless at the moment.

Here's the conversation the outlet had with Amazon's customer service department:

CSA: We still have the November 15 release date showing, if there are any delays or updates we will inform you by email.

CSA: We will keep you updated once we have more information, is there anything else I can help you with today?

David Rodriguez: Ubisoft has already confirmed that the game will be launched in Spring of 2014, so that release date is not accurate.

David Rodriguez: I’d just like to know how Amazon is going to accommodate their customers in light of this delay.

CSA: We need to receive more information from our supplier before we can determine if the PS4 can be shipped separately.

David Rodriguez: There’s a possibility that those who pre-ordered the bundle might not receive a PS4 by itself?

CSA: We haven’t confirmed what we will be able to do yet. We will inform anyone with an order as soon as we have more information.

That sure isn't an encouraging response by any stretch of the imagination. Here's to hoping Sony and Amazon can come up with a suitable solution sooner rather than later.
