Gran Turismo 6 Will Feature Microtransactions

Polyphony Digital's upcoming racing sim, Gran Turismo 6, will feature microtransactions, Sony has confirmed in a post on the EU PlayStation Blog.

Players will be able to purchase in-game credits by shelling out some real-world cash of their own. Credits will be bundled in packs of 500 thousand, 1 million, 2.5 million, and 7 million. Sony has yet to reveal how much each of these credit packs will cost, but here's to hoping the company doesn't get too greedy.

What do you think of Polyphony and Sony's decision to include microtransactions in the game? Is it a harmless addition or do you fear it will taint PlayStation's premier racing franchise? Comment below with your thoughts.
