The new timer has only just been added to the game, with Epic Games not having revealed what exactly it’s counting down to. With Ariana Grande reportedly coming to the game, some have speculated this will mark the singer’s debut in a special live event, while others believe it’s related to a big map change.
When will the Fortnite countdown end?
The Fortnite countdown will end on August 6, 2021, at 6 PM ET/3 PM PT/11 PM BST, judging by the timer’s current status. In most regions, this is late enough to suggest the speculation regarding this being a live show from Ariana Grande could be true.
However, there are other rumors circulating about the next live event. A new blue abductor has appeared in the center of the map that also includes the countdown, therefore causing some to believe that it will instead be focused on a big map change.

Of course, with this being Fortnite, all of the above could be true. Ariana Grande’s arrival could also spark some kind of map-changing event, or Epic Games could go in a different direction entirely.
As is typically the case with Fortnite live events, players are encouraged to sign into the game when the countdown ends to watch the new events unfold as they happen. There’s no saying exactly what this will be, though the countdown suggests it’ll be something big, with Epic Games rarely disappointing when it comes to its new updates.
