Sony: PlayStation Plus User Base has Tripled Since PS4 Launch

Sony UK exec Fergal Gara announced during PlayStation Vita's slim reveal event yesterday that the number of PlayStation Plus subscriptions has tripled since the launch of PlayStation 4.

There's no doubt that having online multiplayer walled behind the premium service is a major contributor to the spike in subscriber numbers, but one can't understate the sheer value PS Plus offers as well. With so many free games available for download across three different platforms, Sony has created one of the most alluring gaming services around.
