Neversoft Merging With Infinity Ward to Form “Super Studio”

Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward is effectively absorbing Neversoft to create a single "super studio," Giant Bomb reports.

"As you know, Neversoft and Infinity Ward teamed up for the development of Call of Duty: Ghosts," Activision's Eric Hirshberg said in an internal memo. "And through that process, it became clear that the two studios have very complementary skill sets. Between these two excellent studios, it seemed like a single 'super-studio' could emerge."

The studio will be called Infinity Ward, as Activision has decided to drop the Neversoft name entirely. "While it will be strange to not see the Neversoft logo on future games, the important things–which are the Neversoft team’s talent, creativity, professionalism and commitment to creative excellence–all remain unchanged as part of this new chapter," the Activision exec added.

Just a couple of days ago, Activision pulled back the curtain on Sledgehammer's first proper foray into the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Check out the debut trailer here.
