Watch Dogs on PS4 Runs in 1080p at 60fps? [Update: Ubisoft Corrects]

[Update] Ubisoft has since come forward to clear up some confusion regarding how Watch Dogs will perform on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Contrary to what we heard earlier, it appears the PlayStation 4 version will run at 900p while the Xbox One version will run at 792p. Both will run at 30 frames-per-second.

“Resolution is a number, just like framerate is a number," Creative director Johnathan Morin explained on the Ubisoft Blog. "All those numbers are valid aspects of making games. But you make choices about the experience you want to deliver. In our case, dynamism is everything. Exploration and expression are everything. You want to have a steady framerate, but you want to have dynamism at the core of the experience. The same goes with resolution."

[Original] Ubisoft's upcoming action open-world game, Watch Dogs, will run at a silky smooth 60 frames-per-second and in crystal clear 1080p on PlayStation 4, Sony has confirmed on the its official website.

Whether or not the title will perform at the same level on Xbox One has yet to be confirmed, but if the last few multiplatform releases are any indication, the optimal Watch Dogs experience will likely be had on PlayStation 4.

Watch Dogs launches on May 27th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PS3, and PC. The title is expected to release on Wii U later this year.
