Xbox One Kinect-Less SKU Announced

Microsoft has announced that it'll be launching a $399.99 SKU of Xbox One that doesn't include Kinect. This new option for consumers will be made available starting June 9th.

In addition, the company will be selling the camera as a separate accessory for those who may wish to purchase the device for their console down the line.

This move flies in the face of prior statements from the company, but now that Phil Spencer is in charge, it looks like things are finally changing for the better.

However, don't take this to mean that the company is pushing its motion-based camera off to the side completely. "Kinect remains an important part of our vision," Spencer explained. "We will continue to innovate on Kinect, I think it's an important differentiator for us."

Will you be picking up an Xbox One now that Microsoft has finally decided to offer a version without Kinect?
