Google’s Daily Doodle Is a Rubik’s Cube

Google has done some really creative things with the Google Doodle which often serves to alert those who visit the site of interesting milestones they might not have been aware of. In the end it proves an incredible distraction but that's what work computers are for, right?

Today's Doodle is a fully interactive Rubik's Cube, but good luck solving this in record time… or at all. I gave up almost immediately because of how awkward it is to control with a mouse. You need to click and drag individual rows and columns to move things around but where exactly you move your mouse can make the entire exercise frustrating.

Keyboard shortcuts are supposed to allow you to navigate the puzzle more easily, but I couldn't get them to work properly.

Further, without the ability to turn the Cube over and see every side easily, it can be infuriating trying to plan out the necessary steps to align colors. I guess there's a reason they never made Rubik's Cube 64.
