This is why Bungie missing out on that $2.5M bonus doesn't really matter.
Activision has proudly announced that, using Chart-Track and information from first-parties and retail, Destiny has at least sold-through more than $325 million worldwide in just the first five days.
That's not a far cry from the $500 million dollars' worth of Destiny SKUs sent to retail stores and first parties worldwide. Considering that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's launch will be early November, Destiny is on track to be the best-selling title this holiday season, if not the entire year.
Activision also shared that players have logged more than 100 million hours of online play in under a week and has participated in 137 million activities. With the announcement earlier today that Bungie will be doubling the number of public events in the game, both figures should see a boost sooner than later.
