Kingdom Hearts III Is Now Being Developed on Unreal Engine 4

It looks like Kingdom Hearts III won't be making use of the Luminous Engine after all, as game director Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that the upcoming Disney/Square mash-up is now being built using Unreal Engine 4.

Speaking to Famitsu, Nomura explained that development is still on track, noting that the team switched to Unreal Engine 4 for "various reasons." Apparently they're having a few issues with rendering because of the transition, but Epic Games is working with them to help find a fix.

What do you think is the reason behind the engine switch? Could developing on the Luminous Engine be too time intensive for the team to get the game out in a reasonable amount of time? After all, there is a reason why so many developers opt to use Unreal.
