Sony: Vita Offers the “Best Handheld Gaming Experience”

Despite the fact that PlayStation Vita has failed to be particularly successful in a handheld market that continues to be dominated by Nintendo and smart devices, Sony Computer Entertainment America President and CEO Shawn Layden believes the company's troubled handheld offers a better experience than the competition.

"I believe that Vita is the best handheld gaming experience, full stop, period. Nothing comes close to that," Layden told IGN. "You can talk about your mobile, you can talk about your tablet, you can talk about, you know, Nintendo platforms or what have you in the handheld space. I think, pound-for-pound, buck-for-buck, Vita is the best gaming experience you can have."

Do you agree with Layden's thoughts? While the Sony exec can't really argue otherwise, it's true that the Vita is a great little piece of hardware. Sadly, however, there just isn't enough first-party exclusive content to put in on par with the offerings found on 3DS.
