The popular video game and electronics retailer GameStop has long been associated with the business practice of trade-ins, and the company is now gearing up for its upcoming “Trade Anything Day.” On this special day, customers can trade in virtually any item, barring some exceptions, for store credit. However, the items must fit in a box with specific dimensions.
People can sell Taxidermy on GameStop’s ‘Trade Anything Day’
GameStop‘s “Trade Anything Day” is scheduled for Saturday, 6 December 2025.
On this day, customers can trade in virtually any physical item for store credit as long as it fits the size requirements and passes inspection checks. This is a temporary shift from the usual trade-in process, which only focuses on video games, consoles, and related items. Notably, taxidermy is one of the items that can be traded.
However, customers can only trade up to and receive store credit for one item. Moreover, only items that fit in a 20 by 20 by 20 measuring box will be accepted.
While any item can be traded as long as it meets the criteria, there are multiple items that are excluded from the promotion and won’t be accepted. These are:
- Hazardous waste or material, chemicals, liquids
- Lithium-ion batteries or items containing such
- Weapons and ammo
- Dead/alive animals
- Alcohol, tobacco, drugs/pharmaceuticals (whether legally/illegally acquired)
- Computers (desktops, laptops, notebooks, all-in-ones, minis, workstations, e-readers, tablets, thin clients, smart displays, VR headsets with a built-in processor, and interactive flat panel displays with built-in processor). However, certain MacBooks are not counted and can be traded in.
- Computer peripherals that are used with a computer and weigh less than 100 pounds. These include monitors, keyboards/keypads, mice/pointers, external hard drives (except those typically accepted in trade-ins), facsimile machines, document scanners, printers, 3D printers, label printers, and digital picture frames.
- Small electronics (portable digital music players, VCRs, DVD players, DVRs, digital converter boxes, cable/satellite receivers, projectors – including those that can play DVDs).
- Small-scale servers
- Televisions
- Gift cards and foreign/domestic currency
- Jewelry
- Sexual/explicit items
- Items that look like body parts
Terms and conditions are subject to change. Moreover, GameStop employees have the discretion to reject items.
