Yakuza 0 Video Shows New Combat Styles

Sega's new Yakuza Zero video focuses on combat. More specifically, the team shows us different styles of fighting.

It's all in Moonspeak, so skip to 2:20 to see Kazuma's Hoodlum Style. He then briefly goes into Rush, followed by Demolition style. As you may have assumed, the Demolition version is best for wielding those huge objects around like weapons. The Hoodlum style (which comes from "chimpira," which could also mean "punk" or "ruffian") has faster footwork "like a boxer." He's a young guy, and the creators wanted to show that with this style.

Majima Goro's basic style is also quick and agile like Kazuma's. His switch to Dancer style (at about 8:10) might be what sells me this game. His third style is "Slugger," and after the introduction, the creators ask "Where did he get the bat?" as they laugh. The Yakuza series has always been pretty over-the-top, though.

Yakuza Zero will hit PS3 and PS4 on March 12, 2015 in Japan, where it's known as Ryu Ga Gotoku Zero.
