Tell GR: Buy, Try, or Die? [September 2012]

What will you Buy? What will you Try? And what needs to Die?

This month's lineup has been but a mere appetizing sampler for the holiday season, and what a tasty one it has been with Persona 4 Arena, Sound Shapes, Sleeping Dogs, Darksiders II, The Last Story, Madden NFL 13, and the release of the Nintendo 3DS XL. Daniel and Jonathan have been slugging their way through Guild Wars 2, so August looks to be extending its welcome. As for me, I'll be the only GR rep going to PAX, so August is going to very long for me indeed.

But let's not forget about next month's lineup, which in my eyes feels like the start of a full-course meal. The main star of the month is Borderlands 2, which I will be drooling over even while I'm punching adversaries in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Dead or Alive 5. Sports fans, if not already tackling through Madden NFL 13, have NHL 13 in mid-September and two soccer titles, FIFA Soccer 13 and Pro Evolution Soccer, at the end of the month.

DLC can't be ignored, either, with Double Dragon: Neon, Mark of the Ninja, and the WoW extension Mists of Pandaria. HD reboots are also on the horizon, though the majority of them don't have a precise release date yet. Capcom fans will want to pre-order the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector Set too.

The absense of handheld software, however, doesn't spell well for the Vita nor the 3DS. The only title worth talking about is LittleBigPlanet, whose success might be limited on the Vita and will ride mainly on the community. Let's hope the Vita and 3DS releases for October and November are much better.
