The Pokémon franchise is undoubtedly one of the most addictive and valuable properties that Nintendo owns. It's still the number one reason to own a Nintendo handheld, even after six generations of the same creature-collecting formula.
Let's take a look back at some of the finest creatures ever conceived by developer Game Freak. You'll notice that quite a few of these Pokémon come from the earliest games, but let's face it, there's nothing quite like the original crew.
