Xbox One Exclusive Titles: State of Decay 2, Deep Rock Galactic, and The Darwin Project Announced

During its E3 2017 press event today, Microsoft announced a wealth of 4K launch exclusives that will accompany its brand new Xbox One X console, formerly known as Scorpio. Among them are several new titles, including a co-op FPS called Deep Rock Galactic, the anticipated State of Decay sequel State of Decay 2, and a survival battle-royale title called The Darwin Project.

Deep Rock Galactic will launch alongside Xbox One X in November, and is described by Microsoft as follows.

In Deep Rock Galactic, join a team of badass space dwarves in this stylish one to four player co-op first-person shooter. Fight, dig and explore your way through enormous procedurally generated cave systems, uncover the riches, and make it out alive.

Meanwhile, State of Decay 2 is scheduled to arrive in 2018, and was announced alongside a harrowing trailer showing off intense bouts with fearsome, unsettling undead, touching on concepts regarding survival, decision making, and human perseverance. The official description can be found below, alongside State of Decay 2‘s first gameplay trailer.

18 months after the zombie apocalypse, the military abandons a refugee camp in small-town America. Those left behind must band together to survive the fall of civilization and the rise of the undead. In State of Decay 2, it’s up to you to gather survivors, build a community, and redefine what it means to survive.

Lastly, a title called The Darwin Project was announced, a title that claims to  “reinvent the battle royale sub-genre.” It’s described as follows and also featured a gameplay trailer.

The Darwin Project is reinventing the battle royale sub-genre. It challenges players to survive the cold and fight to the death in a treacherous, snow-covered arena. In the Darwin Project the environment is as dangerous as the players themselves.

All three games are optimized to display at 4K with enhanced graphics and detail when played on Xbox One X, but are also available across the entire Xbox One family of systems.
