2010 GR Awards: Best PS3 Exclusive

Posted on Wednesday, December 22 @ 17:52:06 PST by

Ever since God of War brought chaos to the PlayStation 2 over 5 years ago, Kratos, the series’ protagonist, has been solidified as a sort of mascot for the PlayStation brand. His insatiable hunger for destruction, deep-seeded rage, and ash-colored skin makes Kratos instantly recognizable. His trials and tribulations have captivated a more mature audience and brought him from the deepest, dankest depths of Hades, to the peak of Mount Olympus. Driven by vengeance, Kratos vows to slay the Gods of Olympus with his iconic chained blades.

In God of War III, Kratos finally achieves his goals and brings Olympus to its knees. His final journey of triumph and sacrifice is properly suited for the PlayStation 3, as God of War III marks the first time the powerful console offered a game featuring such scale and scope. God of War III is the perfect climax to the series, making it the PlayStation 3’s magnum opus and best exclusive game for 2010.

Runners-Up: Gran Turismo 5, Heavy Rain, MAG, Yakuza 3
