Dark Souls II Gets ’T’ Rating By ESRB

The Entertainment Software Ratings Board has given From Software's upcoming tough-as-nails action-RPG Dark Souls II a 'T for Teen' rating.

This is particularly shocking, especially when considering the first game received an 'M' rating, and based on what we've seen thus far, the sequel is every bit as gruesome and dark as its predecessor.

Twinfinite pulled a small section out of the rating description that describes what is in the game, and it sure sounds mature-worthy to me:

…a torture device with streaks of blood. During the course of the game, a boss creature appears partially topless (e.g. hair barely covering breasts). The words ‘bastard’ and “pr*ck” can be heard in the dialogue.

Of course, a game doesn't have to be 'M' just for it to be good. Nevertheless, a 'T' rating for Dark Souls II is incredibly surprising.
