Batman: Arkham Knight PC Version Getting Interim Patch Next Month

WB Games has announced that it will be releasing an "interim" patch for the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight in August, which promises to fix some of the many issues that currently plague this port of Rocksteady's June release.

The publisher made the announcement in a post on the game's Steam page, saying: "As an update, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Rocksteady and our partners are targeting an interim patch update for existing players to be released in August. This update will address many of the issues we listed in our June 27 update. We will provide additional details as we finalize that interim patch over the coming weeks.

"We would like to thank you for your continued patience and invaluable feedback. We are continuing to monitor and listen for any additional issues and are driving towards a full update for everyone as quickly as we possibly can."

Batman: Arkham Knight has been a complete mess on PC, causing WB to have to halt sales of the game while it frantically fixes the game's many problems. Worse yet, the publisher apparently knew of the issues several months before its release and pushed ahead with it anyway. The full fix won't be out until at least September, which, when considering the game released back in June, is totally unacceptable.

Does this paint a bleak picture for future PC ports? As patches and updates become more and more prevalent, do you think we'll see more games release in a broken state? I don't know about you, but this whole "release now, fix later" mentality has me a bit concerned.
