Microsoft Expects Xbox One to Outsell PS4 Again in August

Xbox's Marketing Chief Aaron Greenberg believes that the tide is changing. According to July's NPD figures, Xbox One sales surpassed PS4 sales in the United States, and now with the launch of the Xbox One S, it has the momentum to do the same in August.

In an interview with Windows Central, Greenberg believes that the momentum started with announcement of two new console at Microsoft's E3 conference:

We showcased a huge games line-up, a lot of Xbox Live innovation. It's great to see the July NPD as a result. We had a really good response coming out of that… I think we're going to sell a lot of consoles.

We're really pleased with how the Xbox One S has been performing. It has exceeded our expectations. We're trying to make as many as we can, as fast as we can, as we try to get these new bundles out to the market.

The Xbox One's $50 price cut seems to be working, though the PlayStation 4 has been ahead for so long that those who want a PS4 likely already own one.

Do you believe the Xbox One is becoming more competitive with the PS4?
