Keychron has launched three new lightweight mice: the G3, G4, and the G5. In this review, I’m focusing on the G3, which stands out with its slightly more accommodating width. With someone with larger hands, the G3 immediately felt “right” with excellent support. But what else has this mouse got going on? Here is my review.
Lightweight champion

The G3 is built around the PixArt 3950 sensor, which is exactly what I want to see in a modern gaming mouse. It supports up to an 8K polling rate in 2.4 GHz wireless and wired USB-C modes, while also offering Bluetooth connectivity.
I’ve been testing the black version with its ABS and carbon fiber construction, including a carbon fiber top cover and primary buttons. On the scales, it comes in at just 44 grams, making it extremely light. Despite this, it feels solid in the hand and the slightly textured finish gives your fingers and palm something to grip on to.

Getting the mouse set up and customized is achieved through Keychron’s browser-based application. There’s no need to download and install any software. The web-based app allows for all the fine-tuning you need, including tweaking DPI, polling rate, profiles, macros, lift-off-distance, and more.
Let’s get gaming

In games, the G3 performs incredibly well. It’s clear that the PixArt 3950 is no slouch, tracking well. The Huano micro-switches are great, too. I experienced no hiccups at all while gaming or doing my day-to-day office tasks.
The only potential downside of the G3 is that some users might not get on with the wide shape. If Keychron had only launched this one mouse, then I think some folks might have felt a little alienated. However, with the G4 and G5 also launching, there are other options.

Pricing depends on the version you go for, with the Frosted Gray model coming in at $84.99 and the Black Carbon Fiber version at $109.99. That more premium version may be a dealbreaker for some. However, when you consider just how lightweight this mouse is, its premium materials, and top-tier specs, Keychron has clearly worked to justify the price tag.

Final Verdict
The Keychron G3 is an excellent lightweight gaming mouse for players who want strong performance with a more supportive shape. It has the high-end specs you’d expect, useful browser-based customization, and a 44-gram build that feels seriously impressive in hand. The wider shape won’t be for everyone, but if it suits your grip, the G3 is a great option.
