The Smurfs Dance Party Beats Skyrim and Black Ops in Redbox Rentals

Redbox has revealed the top 10 video game rentals of 2011 from its 27,000 rental booths nationwide.

Unsurprisingly, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for Xbox 360 holds the top spot. Just Dance 3 and Dead Island take the next two spots, and while the staying power of these two titles shock me at first, I then realize that these two titles are probably the best titles to play for a day or so.

The list also shows the buying power of parents who buy their children Cars 2 and The Smurfs Dance Party, which is even greater than some multiplayer first-person shooters like Call of Duty: Black Ops and Brink. Skyrim is unfortunately eighth on the list, but it's the most recent title released on the top 10 list and I don't think a rental really does it justice. (And how did Transformers make it in, anyhow?)
