Best of 2011 Awards

Here at GameRevolution, the Best of the Year Awards are taken very seriously and every nominated game must go through a vigorous process that involves careful examination, heavy boasting, unusual conjectures, several gunshots, two orangutauns, a lavender-scented candle, and five confused surgeons. It can take days; it can take hours. All we know is that it ends up with a lot of dry mouths and way too much paperwork for insurance fraud.

After much deliberation, we have given over twenty awards in twenty categories, focusing on excellence in genre and platform. You will like be surprised by some of our picks, as some have already. We don't really care about your opinion. But just to make sure we didn't snub any titles (unless we snub them once again), we have included our staff picks along with our awards.

Of course, every award show says that "oh, picking the winners this year as been extremely difficult year", but this time around, we mean it. (Except for the Wii.) Even in 2011, a year without many new IPs, we've given more A's and A-'s this year than any year before us. Either the sequels have been awesome, or we need to retake a class in "insensitivity training". It's probably a case of both. In fact, I hope the furry fox in The Last Guardian dies from starvation. That is, If Sony doesn't kill it first. WHAT!!! ~ Nick
